Join the Global LT community and help provide language lessons to business professionals and their families worldwide. We are hiring English Language Teachers to provide in-person lessons to our clients.

Job Information:

  • Ref: 188991 / 188993

  • Students: Two siblings, ages 5 and 8 years old

  • Location: Rocklin, CA 95765 – near Sunset Blvd. and Park Dr. (lessons at the children’s school during free blocks; a dedicated classroom is available)

  • Availability: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday between 12:55 and 14:20

  • Preferred start date: ASAP

  • Lesson Frequency: 3 times per week per student

  • Lesson Duration: 30 minutes per student

  • Current language level: Complete beginner

  • Languages spoken at home: German

  • Time zone: Pacific Standard Time (PST)

Student’s goals:
Develop confidence and communication skills to interact with peers, make friends, and participate actively in school life. Lessons should be engaging, game-based, and structured, with clear objectives and homework. Key areas include:

  • Vocabulary building and school-related expressions

  • Understanding how schools work in the US

  • Common daily phrases and cultural topics (sustainability, hobbies, shopping, politeness)

  • Pronunciation and understanding local accents

  • Social interaction skills: sharing feedback, giving compliments, making phone calls

  • Academic skills: writing, listening comprehension, reading

  • Friendship-building and conversational confidence

Student interests:

  • 5-year-old (boy): sports (soccer, basketball, baseball, cycling), Lego, math

  • 8-year-old (girl): arts & crafts (pottery), swimming, playing games

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic, interactive, and age-appropriate lessons

  • Use games, role-play, and hands-on activities to maintain engagement

  • Incorporate students’ interests into lesson themes

  • Provide structured learning with clear goals and homework

  • Monitor and adapt lessons based on each student’s progress

  • Communicate regularly with parents about development

Qualifications:

  • Native or near-native written and spoken proficiency in English

  • Certificate or degree in language teaching, education, instructional design, linguistics, second-language acquisition, or related field

  • Minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably with children

  • Ability to create a supportive and motivating learning environment
